To a solution of 4-(benzyloxy)-1-(2,3-dimethyl-2H-indazol-5-yl)pyridin-2(1H)-one (1.8 g) in ethanol (40 ml) was added 10% palladium carbon (0.56 g), and the mixture was stirred under a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 3 hr. The insoluble material was filtered off, and the obtained filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (1.04 g).
