To a solution of 4-Methyl-4-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-1H-quinazolin-2-one (0.70 g, 2.9 mmol) in DMF (10 mL) is added 1-chloromethyl-4-methoxy-benzene and Cs2CO3 (1.92 g, 5.9 mmol). After the addition the mixture is stirred at −20° C. for 1 h. Then CH3I (2.6 g, 18 mmol) is added dropwise. After the addition the mixture is heated to refluxed overnight. H2O is then added and the mixture extracted with EtOAc which is dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated. The residue is purified by chromatography on silica gel to give product.
