To the amide intermediate, THF (6 mL), MeOH (6 mL) and 1.0 M aq. NaOH (6.32 mL, 6.32 mmol) were added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 20 min. The volatile solvents were removed under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was extracted with EtOAc (2×). The combined organic phases were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4, and then concentrated to dry to give tert-butyl ((3S,5R)-1-{3-[({6-[2,6-difluoro-4-(methoxymethyl)phenyl]-5-fluoropyridin-2-yl}carbonyl)amino]-7-hydroxy-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[b]pyridin-4-yl}-5-methylpiperidin-3-yl)carbamate as a second intermediate.
