The methyl 6-[2,6-difluoro-4-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3-yloxy)phenyl]-5-fluoropyridine-2-carboxylate was treated with THF (2 mL), MeOH (2 mL) and 1.0 M aq. NaOH (2 mL, 2 mmol) at room temperature for 1 h. The volatile organic solvents were removed and the residue was neutralized to pH-5-6 with 1 M HCl. The solid that precipitated was filtered, rinsed with water, and dried to give sub-title compound as a white solid. LCMS calc. for C17H15F3NO4 (M+H)+ m/z=354.1. found: 353.9.
