Reaction Steps
The title compound was prepared from (E)-(2-nitrovinyl)benzene and isobutyraldehyde according to the general procedure. The enantiomeric ratio were determined by HPLC with Chiralpak OD-H column at 210 nm (2-propanol:hexane=15:85), 1 mL/min, tmajor=19.7 min, tminor=13.9 min, [α]D20=−4.3 (c=1.6, CHCl3).
