The title compound was prepared from 3-oxo-2,8-diaza-spiro[4,5]decane-8-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester and 4-methyl-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl trifluoromethanesulfonate in two steps in an analogous fashion to that described for 2-(4-Methyl-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl)-2,9-diazaspiro[5.5]undecan-1-one (I-19) above.
