Procedure
A mixture of 1A (1.61 g, 4.0 mmol) and sodium azide (0.78 g, 12.0 mmol) in DMF (27 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 20 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with H2O (120 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (3×60 mL). The combined organic phases were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography (SiO2, step-wise gradient from 2-40% EtOAc in Hexanes) to give 2A (1.46 g, 100%) as a clear oil. 1H NMR (600 MHz, CDCl3): δ 7.05 (2H, d, J=8.4 Hz), 6.85 (2H, d, J=8.4 Hz), 4.97 (1H, d, J=7.8 Hz), 4.51-4.58 (1H, m), 4.13 (2H, t, J=5.4 Hz), 3.71 (3H, s), 3.58 (2H, t, J=5.4 Hz), 3.06 (1H, dd, J=13.8, 5.4 Hz), 3.00 (1H, dd, J=13.8, 5.4 Hz), 1.42 (9H, s); 13C NMR (150 MHz, CDCl3): δ 172.3, 157.3, 155.1, 130.4, 128.7, 114.6, 79.9, 66.9, 54.5, 52.2, 50.2, 37.5, 28.3; MS (ESI, m/z): 387 (M+Na)+.
