Procedure

By General Procedure A from ethyl 2-formylpyridine-4-carboxylate and 4-aminobutan-1-ol. Purification by column chromatography (5% MeOH/DCM) gave the target compound as greenish oil. 1H-NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3): δ 8.60 (d, 1H), 7.80 (s, 1H), 7.70 (d, 1H), 4.40 (q, 2H), 4.05 (s, 1H), 3.60 (m, 2H), 2.80 (m, 2H), 1.70 (m, 4H), 1.40 (t, 3H) ppm.
