A mixture of 2-chloro-4-(3-chlorophenyl)-6-ethyl-1,3,5-triazine (0.105 g, 0.41 mmol) and 4-(2-methoxyethyl)aniline (0.075 g, 0.49 mmol) were suspended in acetic acid (1 mL) and the mixture was heated at 75° C. for 3 h. After this time, the reaction was cooled, diluted with saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography (silica, hexanes/ethyl acetate) to afford the title compound (0.094 g, 62%) as a white solid. MW=368.86. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 500 MHz) δ 10.21 (s, 1H), 8.41-8.30 (m, 2H), 7.72-7.68 (m, 3H), 7.61 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 1H), 7.27-7.19 (m, 2H), 3.54 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 2H), 3.25 (s, 3H), 2.80-2.75 (m, 4H), 1.32 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 3H); APCI MS m/z 369 [M+H]+.
