Procedure
A 10-mL microwave vial was charged with 4-chloro-2-cyclopentyl-6,7-dihydro-5H-cyclopenta[d]pyrimidine (0.132 g, 0.59 mmol) and (4-aminophenyl)acetamide (0.178 g, 1.18 mmol) in NMP (4 mL). The resulting mixture was heated at 120° C. under microwave irradiation for 2 h. The reaction mixture was cooled, diluted with water (40 mL), then extracted with 3:1 chloroform/isopropanol (3×25 mL). The combined extract was washed with saturated sodium chloride (5 mL), dried over sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica using dichloromethane/methanol (9:1) as eluent followed by chromatography on silica using dichloromethane/methanol (10:0 to 9:1) as eluent to afford the title compound (0.112 g, 56%) as a light brown solid. MW=336.43. M.p. 228-230° C. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 500 MHz) δ 8.51 (s, 1H), 7.72 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 7.39 (s, 1H), 7.16 (d, J=8.5 Hz, 2H), 6.82 (s, 1H), 3.10 (quin, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 2.77 (q, J=9.0 Hz, 4H), 2.01 (quin, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 1.98-1.90 (m, 2H), 1.87-1.78 (m, 2H), 1.78-1.68 (m, 2H), 1.65-1.55 (m, 2H); APCI MS m/z 337 [M+H]+.
