A solution of AlCl3 (203 mg, 1.52 mmol) in anhydrous anisole (750 μl) was added to 38 (191 mg, 0.31 mmol) in anhydrous anisole (750 μl) and the resulting solution was stirred at room temperature for 18 hours. The reaction was diluted with MeOH (750 μl) and the solvent was concentrated.
