Benzyl mercaptan (0.06 mL, 0.45 mmol) and sodium hydroxide (0.030 g, 0.76 mmol) were combined in EtOH. Methanesulfonic acid 2-[5-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-methyl-isoxazol-4-yl]-ethyl ester (0.161 g, 0.45 mmol) was added and the reaction was stirred at 70° C. for 2 hours. The mixture was diluted with EtOAc and H2O and separated. The organic layer was washed with H2O and brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated to give the title compound.
