To a solution of 3-(4-{6-[5-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-[1,3,4]oxadiazol-2-yl]-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl}-3,5-dimethylphenyl)-propionic acid methyl ester in MeOH (10 mL) was added 1N NaOH (10 mL). The mixture was stirred at RT for 2 h then the resulting solution was carefully acidified to pH 3-4 with 1N HCl. The resulting precipitate was filtered, washed with water and was dried under reduced pressure to give the title compound. MS: m/z 469.1 (M+1). H1-NMR (MeOD): δ 8.40 (s, broad, 1 H), 8.15-8.08 (m, 3H), 7.81 (s, broad, 1H), 7.16 (d, J=8.97 Hz, 2H), 7.10 (s, 2H), 3.91 (s, 3H), 2.93 (t, 2H), 2.55 (t, 2H), 2.15 (s, 6H).
