A solution of 3-(3,5-dichloro-4-[6-(quinolin-2-ylcarbamoyl)-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl]-phenyl)-propionic acid tert butyl ester (440 mg, 0.8 mmol) in 4 M HCl in dioxane (25 mL) was stirred at ambient temperature 6 h. The solution was evaporated to half volume and diluted with diethyl ether to give 3-(3,5-dichloro-4-[6-(quinolin-2-ylcarbamoyl)-1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl]-phenyl)-propionic acid as an HCl salt. 1H-NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz): δ 11.91 (s, 1H), 8.67 (d, J=9.09 Hz, 1H), 8.61 (s, 1H), 8.35 (d, J=9.09 Hz, 1H), 8.05-8.14 (m, 4H), 7.87 (t, J=7.77 Hz, 2H), 7.62-7.67 (m, 4H), 2.94 (t, J=7.33 Hz, 2H), 2.68 (t, J=7.39 Hz, 2H). MS (ESI) m/z 505.0 (M+H).
