To the product of Example 3D (0.3 g, 0.6 mmol) in a 10 mL round bottom flask was added tetrahydrofuran (2 mL). Upon solution, tetrabutylammonium fluoride (1.8 mmol, 1.8 mL, 1 M solution in THF) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred for 90 minutes. The contents were then concentrated under reduced pressure and the crude mixture purified by flash chromatography using silica gel (hexanes:ethyl acetate) to obtain 185 mg (80%) of pure desired product. 1H (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 7.74 (s, 1H), 7.3 (d, 2H), 6.9 (d, 2H), 5.2 (s, 2H), 4.3 (m, 1H), 3.81-3.77 (two br s, 2H), 1.84 (hr t, 1H), 1.77-1.69 (m, 2H), 1.64 (s, 9H), 0.98 (t, 3H); 13C (CDCl3) δ (ppm): 159.2, 158.9, 153.9, 129.2, 127.5, 125.4, 116.6, 80.4, 71.9, 66.5, 64.2, 28, 23.5, 9.7.
