Procedure
3-(2-Methoxypyridin-4-yl)-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridazine (115 mg, 0.451 mmol) was stirred in concentrated hydrochloric acid (20 mL) at 120° C. for 18 h and then concentrated. The residue was adjusted to pH 8 with 6 N NaOH and the solids were filtered off, washed with water and dried under vacuum to provide the title compound (120 mg, quant) as a white solid: 1H NMR (500 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 11.87 (s, 1H), 8.61 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 8.42 (d, J=8.9 Hz, 1H), 7.62 (d, J=6.8 Hz, 1H), 7.19 (s, 1H), 7.01 (dd, J=6.8, 1.6 Hz, 1H).
