Procedure
A mixture of 300 mg (1.704 mmol) 3-methoxy-1H-indazole-5-carbaldehyde (Example 7A), 151 mg (1.442 mmol) sodium (1Z)-1-cyanoprop-1-en-2-olate, 93 μl (1.639 mmol) acetic acid and 11 mg (0.131 mmol) piperidine in dry dichloromethane (10 ml) was refluxed overnight employing a water separator. Upon cooling, a precipitate was formed which was removed by filtration. The filtrate thus obtained was concentrated, and the residue was purified by preparative RP-HPLC (acetonitrile/water gradient) to afford 43 mg (10% of th.) of the title compound.
