Procedure
A solution of Example 229E (0.072 g, 0.157 mmol) in dichloromethane (1.429 mL) was treated with 2,2,2-trifluoroacetic acid (0.121 mL, 1.572 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 8 hours. The mixture was concentrated and the residue was partitioned in ethyl acetate and saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate. The aqueous layer was back-extracted with additional ethyl acetate and the combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to provide the title compound. MS (ESI+) m/z 358.1 (M+H)+.
