To a solution of (S)—N-(3-(2,6-dimethylpyridin-3-yloxy)-5-(pyridin-2-ylthio)pyridin-2-yl)-3-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]decan-2-yl)-1,2,4-thiadiazol-5-amine (0.70 g, 1.3 mmol) in ethanol (20 mL) was added concentrated HCl (2.4 ml) and the reaction was heated to 80° C. for 2 hours. The reaction was concentrated and the material triturated with EtOH. The solid was further purified by reverse phase HPLC to yield pure product. The product was taken up in ethanol and HCl (2M in ether) was added. The mixture was stirred for 2 hours and concentrated in vacuo and dried in vacuo to yield the product as the HCl salt (73.2 mg, 12%). Mass Spectrum (apci) m/z=469.2 (M+H−HCl).
