Procedure
To a solution of 5-bromo-4-chloro-1-(2,6-difluorophenyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile obtained in Step F (270 mg) in ethanol (10 mL) was added hydrazine monohydrate (0.135 mL) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was heated overnight at 90° C., and cooled to room temperature. The reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure, to the residue was added water, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure to give the title compound (332 mg).
