A mixture of N-(4-(3-cyano-4-methoxy-2-oxopyridin-1(2H)-yl)-3,5-difluorophenyl)acetamide obtained in Step C (1.10 g), hydrazine monohydrate (0.52 g), ethanol (30 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (15 mL) was stirred at 60° C. for 2 hr. The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure, and to the residue was added isopropyl ether, and the mixture was stirred for 15 min. The precipitate was collected by filtration to give the title compound (0.75 g).
