4-Bromomethyl-5-(4-bromo-phenyl)-3-methyl-isoxazole (0.8066 g, 2.44 mmol) and triphenylphosphine (0.7026 g, 2.68 mmol) were combined in toluene (8 mL) and heated to 75° C. for 75 minutes. Analytical LCMS indicated complete conversion so the reaction was cooled, filtered (rinsing with toluene) and concentrated to afford the title compound, which was used in the next step without further purification.
