A solution of 5-bromo-3-(ethyl(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)amino)-2-methyl-N-((6-methyl-2-oxo-4-propyl-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)benzamide (0.5 g, 0.99 mmol), 5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)picolinaldehyde (0.346 g, 1.48 mmol), and tetrakis (0.114 g, 0.99 mmol) in dioxane (10 mL) was purged with argon for 10 min. To this, aq. Na2CO3 (0.378 g, 3.56 mmol, 1.8 mL) was added and again degassed for 10 min. Reaction mixture was heated at 100° C. for 16 h. On completion, it was concentrated to obtain crude material which was column purified to afford the title compound (0.40 g, 76.0%).
