Procedure
A solution of 44 g of tert-butyl 2-chloro-3-(2-chloro-5-(4-chloro-5-difluoromethoxy-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-4-fluorophenyl)acrylate (93 mmol) in 200 ml of dichloromethane was treated with 200 ml of trifluoroacetic acid. After the mixture had been stirred for 16 hours, it was concentrated. The residue was recrystallized from hexane/ethyl acetate (2:1). Yield: 23 g; a further 4 g by concentrating the mother liquor.
