Reaction Steps

First, a solution of 0.85 g (5.5 mmol) of sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate in 10 ml of water and then 2.7 ml of a 30% strength aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution were added dropwise to a solution of 7.4 g (22 mmol) of 2,4-dichloro-5-(5-difluoromethoxy-4-fluoro-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)benzaldehyde in 200 ml of acetonitrile. A solution of 2.9 g (33 mmol) of sodium chloride in 25 ml of water was then added dropwise to the reaction mixture in the course of 20 minutes. After the solution had been stirred for one hour, the resulting mixture was acidified with dilute hydrochloric acid. Finally, the solid product of value which had formed was filtered off and dried. Yield: 6.3 g.
