Procedure

A solution of the product from Step G (1.912 grams) in methyl tert-butyl ether (20 mL) was combined with 5% Pd/C catalyst (200 mg) in a hydrogenation bottle. The mixture was hydrogenated using a Parr apparatus at14 psi for 1 hour. The catalyst was removed by filtration through Celite and the filtrate evaporated. The resultant solid was employed without further purification.
