Procedure
A solution of 5.58 g. (0.02 mole) of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5-[2-hydroxy-3-(isopropylamino)propoxy]-2-naphthol in 30 ml. of 99% ethanol is treated with 4 ml. of 33% formalin and heated under reflux for 12-16 hours. The solution is acidified with hydrochloric acid in ethanol and the oxazolidine hydrochloride precipitated by the addition of ether.
