Procedure
A mixture of 5.3 g of (4,6-dichloro-2-pyrimidinylthio) acetic acid ethyl ester, 3.9 g of N-(p-chlorophenyl)piperazine and 2.1 g of sodium carbonate in 120 ml. of ethanol was warmed on a steam bath for 10 minutes. The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was diluted with water in order to cause precipitation. The precipitate was recrystallized from ethanol to afford 5.3 g of product, mp. 117°-120°C.
