Procedure
The procedure of Example 1 was followed using 27g (0.15 mole) of trichloracetyl chloride and 45g (0.45 mole) of diethyl-formamide and 15g (0.15 mole) of triethylamine. Obtained following distillation was 14g 0f pure N,N-diethyl 3,3,3-trichloropyruvamide as a clear, colorless liquid: Bp 94°-96° (0.15 mm); ir (λmax, film) 5.7 (s), 6.1 (s), 6.8 (s), 6.9 (s), 9.4 (s), 12.1 (s) microns.
