Procedure
was prepared by the procedure of Example 11 hereinabove, except that the 3-methyl-5-nitro-isoquinoline of that example was replaced by 5-chloro-8-nitro-isoquinoline, and the concentrated hydrochloric acid of Example 11 was replaced by concentrated hydriodic acid, to yield 5-chloro-8-nitro-isoquinoline hydro-iodide, melting over the range 161°-5°C.
