Reaction Steps
In a manner similar to that described in Example 6C, treat 6β,7β-dimethanesulfonyloxy-17α-acetoxy-4-pregnene-3,20-dione with sodium azide in aqueous methanol in the presence of acetic acid. Isolate and purify the resultant product in a manner similar to that described to obtain 6-azido-17α-acetoxy-4,6-pregnadiene-3,20-dione.
