Reagents, catalysts & solvents 1
Procedure
8.5 g of 1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-6,7-dimethyl-6-azabicyclo[3,2,1]octane and 5.3 g of d-tartaric acid are dissolved in 50 ml of ethanol under heating. The solution is concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure. Then, the residue is recrystallized twice from 25 ml of methanol. 6.01 g of (-)-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-6,7-dimethyl-6-azabicyclo[3,2,1]octane d-tartarate are obtained as crystals. M.p. 174° - 176°C. [α]D 23 + 22.3°(c = 1.6, methanol)
