Reaction Steps
8.7 g of 1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-6-azabicyclo[3,2,1]octane and 6.2 g of d-tartaric acid are added to 80 ml of boiling-ethanol. The mixture is allowed to stand overnight. The crystalline precipitate is collected by filtration and then recrystallized from methanol. 5.65 g of (-)-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)-6-azabicyclo[3,2,1]octane d-tartarate are obtained. M.p. 190° - 192°C.
