Procedure

The title compound was prepared from 1-carboxymethyl-4-methyl-5-azidomethylimidazole and tert-butylamine using the procedure described in EXAMPLE I, Step A. 1H NMR (CDCl3) d 1.32 (s, 9 H), 2.29 (s, 3 H), 4.31 (s, 2 H), 4.48 (s, 2 H), 5.25 (br s, 1 H), 7.47 (s, 1 H).
