Procedure

A solution of 4-(N-t-butoxycarbonyl-N-methyl-β-alanyl)morpholine (1.37 g) in trifluoroacetic acid (20 ml) was stirred at 0° C. for 1 hour. The solvent was evaporated to give 4-(N-methyl-β-alanyl)morpholine trifluoroacetic acid salt (1.44 g).
