Procedure
To a solution of 2-cyano-2-(methoxyimino)acetamidinium acetate (12.5 g) dissolved in methanol(100 ml) was added triethylamine(23.4 ml). Thereafter, bromine (12.9 g) was added slowly in small portions at -15° C., and the mixture was stirred for 5 minutes at -15°~-10° C., Potassium thiocyanate(3.7 g) dissolved in methanol(55 ml) was then added dropwise to the mixture at temperatures of -10° to -5° C., and the mixture stirred for 2 hours at 0° C. The reaction mixture was poured into ice water (1.2 l), and stirred for 30 minutes. The precipitates were filtered and dired to give the above-indicated compound (12.2 g) in pale brown.
