Reaction Steps

To ammonium acetate (18.5 g) dissolved in methanol (100 ml) was added 2-(tert-butoxycarbonylprop-2-oxyimino)malononitrile (19 g). After stirred for 2 hours, the mixture was standed overnight at room temperature. The reaction mixture was concentrated, and water (500 ml) was added therein. The obtained mixture was extracted with ethylacetate (500 ml). After the extract was dehydrated, filtered, and concentrated, ethylether was added therein, and stirred for 30 minutes. The precipitates were filtered to give the above-indicated compound (15 g) in pale yellow.
