This was prepared from (4S,5R)-1-(3-[4-methanesulfonylphenyl]acryloyl)-3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-imidazolidin-2-one and 3,5-difluorophenylmagnesium bromide using a method similar to that used to prepare (S)-3-phenyl-3-(4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)propionaldehyde from phenylmagnesium bromide (Method N).
