To 87.44 g of 2-aminoindane dissolved in 800 ml of methylene chloride was added 66.43 g of triethylamine, and 102.8 g of n-butylsulfonyl chloride was added dropwise thereto under ice cooling. The mixture was stirred at the same temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was washed with diluted hydrochloric acid and dried, and then the solvent was removed. The resulting crystals were recrystallized from isopropyl ether to obtain 151.12 g of 2-n-butylsulfonylaminoindane.
