Procedure
To a solution of 1-bromomethyl-2-ethoxycarbonyl-7-trifluoromethylimidazo[1,2-a]quinoxalin-4(5H)-one (Example 3) (630 mg, 1.5 mmol) in acetonitrile (180 ml) was added N-methylpiperazine (200 mg, 2.0 mmol). Stirring of the mixture was continued overnight at 25° C. followed by evaporation in vacuo. The residue was submitted to flash chromatography on silica gel 60 eluting with dichloromethane/methanol/ammonium hydroxide (90:10:0.5) to give 450 mg (69%) of the title compound. M.p. 255° C.
