A mixture of 0.48 g (1.4 mmol) of 3-(4-acetylamino-benzylamino)-5-amino-4-cyano-pyrazole containing 21.06% THF, 0.245 ml (1.43 mmol) of N,N-dimethylformamide diethyl acetal and 4 ml of toluene is heated under reflux for 4.5 hours. The reaction mixture is then cooled to approx. 0° C. and filtered and the filter residue is washed with toluene, yielding the title compound; m.p. 206-211° C.
