Lead tetraacetate (313 mg) was added to a solution of cyclopropanecarboxylic acid [3-(5-chloro-7-fluoro-2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-4-yl)-propyl]-amide (0.2 g) in glacial acetic acid (5 ml) and the mixture stirred at room temperature for 18 h. The solvent was evaporated and the resdue purified by preparitive HPLC to give the title compound as a colourless solid (20 mg).
