Participants
| Role | Name | HCID | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactant | Hydrochloric Acid | HCID 313 | — |
| Reactant | Donepezil | HCID 3152 | — |
| Solvent | Ethanol | HCID 702 | — |
| Solvent | Ethyl Acetate | HCID 8857 | — |
| Product | Donepezil Hydrochloride | HCID 5741 | — |
Reaction Steps
0.3 g of Donepezil was dissolved in 3 ml of ethyl acetate under heating. Under stirring at room temperature, 0.79 ml of 10%-hydrogen chloride in ethanol solution was added. Filtration of the crystals and drying at 85° C. for 3 hours, then at 70° C. for 16 hours afforded 0.3g of the title compound.
