1-(3-Fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)-2-[4-(methylthio)phenyl]-ethan-1-one oxime was prepared in 91% yield by treatment of 1-(3-fluoro-4-methoxyphenyl)-2-[4-(methylthio)phenyl]-ethan-1-one from Step 1 with hydroxylamine: 1H NMR (CDCl3 /300 MHz) δ 7.40 (dd, J=12.69, 2.22 Hz, 1H), 7.30 (d, J=8.66 Hz, 1H), 7.18-7.12 (m, 4H), 6.88 (dd, J=8.66, 8.46 Hz, 1H), 4.10 (s, 2H), 3.87 (s, 3H), 2.43 (s, 3H).
