Reaction Steps
113 Milligrams of methyl α-acetylamino-α-methylthiophenylacetate and 41 mg of thiophenol were dissolved in 5 ml of methanol, and to the solution 0.5 ml of triethylamine was added, followed by an hour's refluxing. After a reduced pressure concentration of the reaction mixture, the residue was parted by a column chromatography (silica gel and methylene chloride). Thus 92 mg of methyl α-acetylaminophenylacetate was obtained. The yield was 99%.
