PROCEDURE

实验过程

2α,3α-Epoxy-5α-pregn-16-ene-11,20-dione (600 mg.) in chloroform (25 ml.) was shaken with concentrated hydrochloric acid (25 ml.) for 2 hours. The organic layer was washed with water, dried over sodium sulphate and evaporated to an oil which was purified by preparative tlc to give 2β-chloro-3α-hydroxy-5α-pregn-16-ene-11,20-dione as the major product. Also isolated was the title compound (75 mg.) as fine white crystals, m.p. 192°-194°, [α]D + 98°.
