Procedure

A solution of L-pyroglutamyl-L-histidyl-L-tryptophyl-L-seryl-L-tyrosylglycyl-L-leucyl-Nδ,Nω-bisadamantyloxycarbonyl-L-arginyl-L-prolylglycinamide (XXI) (1.54 g) in trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) (5 ml) is allowed to stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Absolute ethyl ether (25 ml) is then added to the reaction mixture and the precipitate is collected by filtration and washed thoroughly with absolute ethyl ether. The precipitate is dried in vacuo to give L-pyroglutamyl-L-histidyl-L-tryptophyl-L-seryl-L-tyrosylglycyl-L-leucyl-L-arginyl-L-prolylglycinamide XXII.
