Procedure
A mixture of 4-bromoandrosta-4,6-diene-3,17-dione (545 mg, 1.5 mmole), dioxane (15 ml) and 30% NH4OH aqueous solution (30 ml) is stirred at 75° C. in a pressure vessel during 8 hours. After cooling to room temperature, the reaction mixture is worked up as described in the Example I. There are obtained 126 mg (0.42 mmole, 28% yield) of the title compound as a yellowish solid.
