A mixture of 2-butanol (0.092 mL, 1 mmol), 7c (0.17 g, 1 mmol), and powdered molecular sieve (0.15 g, 4Å) in alcohol-free CHCl3 (2 mL) is refluxed for 18 h. Following filtration through filter-aid and evaporation 0.2 g (98%) of the title compound is obtained.
