Procedure

A solution of 7 g of octahydro-2H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrazine and 15 ml of ethyl acrylate in 100 ml of acetonitrile is refluxed for 24 hours and then concentrated to dryness in vacuo to yield the expected product.
